- Judy Brouse presented the 2004 Watershed Report Card for Muskoka. The environmental Report
Card (water, air, land & community) is well worth a view at www.muskokaheritage.org/watershed - Ernest Hills, Emergency Management Organization outlined the need for all Municipalities to have a well established Emergency Management Centre. Our Fire Chief, Jim Boswell is our Township Coordinator. The Centre will be part of our new office design. A community awareness program is being developed. Emergencies could include forest fires, major spills on the water or Hwy 400, blackouts, etc.
- Council approved the Terms of Reference for the Project Manager for the new office to coordinate the space need review, cost analyses, tendering and construction. Applications are due Nov. 16. See the Township web site in a few weeks for details www.township.georgianbay.on.ca.
- Council approved the preparation of a debenture for up to $3.5M for the new office and the purchase of a fire vehicle. This is considered the maximum value and we will only use what we need. I felt the figure was too high and voted against the Motion.
