Artists Tour – Saturday August 17 & Sunday August 18
This was a very successful event last summer and there appears to be lots of interest to run it again this year. There are 6 returning Artists and 6 new Artists who have indicated their interest so far this year.
If you are interested in participating in the Artist Tour this summer, please contact Mary Boddy by May 1st. Please provide the following:
- A brief written summary (50 words max.) about you and your art work and several photos of your art work that can be used in the handout pamphlet.
- Address/location of your cottage. Address name as well as the lake directory number
- Photo of docking facilities at this location
- Contact email address and phone number
Proof of liability insurance for your cottage for this 2 day event will need to be provided prior to the printing of the tour pamphlet.
There will be a fee of $35 per artist to pay for the printing of the pamphlet.
Some Artist’s preferred to group together at a single location. If you need assistance finding another Artist to pair up with or are interested in having another Artist join you at your location, let Mary know and she can explore this with you.
All items at the sale need to be handmade by the artist.
Little Libraries
A new idea for the lake community this summer is Little Libraries that in recent years have become popular. One of our lake Artists, woodworker Joe Hartjes, has offered to build these Little Libraries for purchase for $150. Individual cottagers, or groups of cottagers have started placing orders for these libraries. Books are donated to the little libraries and they are on loan for everyone’s reading pleasure.
Art’s Lane, Moccasin Trail, Haskett’s Drive, Wauwautosa Marina and Transcanada Bay Rd have all placed orders for Little Libraries. The library owners will need to provide their own pedestal for their libraries.
If you are interested in purchasing a Little Library, please contact Mary Boddy as soon as possible so your library will be ready for the spring.
