- The Library Board presented its 2005-2008 Strategic Plan which identifies their goals and plans for the next 3 years.
- The Township will assist the Go Home Lake Associations (Voyageurs Club) in repairs to Portage Road that was seriously damaged in the mid-June rain storm.
- Council unanimously denied an application to amend the Six Mile Lake Official Plan to allow for a 4 lot subdivision in a shallow wetlands in Hungry River at the top end of Six Mile Lake.
- Council agreed to disband the 3 existing Committees (Planning, Public Works & Recreation) and return discussions to the Committee of The Whole of Council. Two of the Committees have basically run out of topics and the Planning Committee is heading into a period of major decision making as we wrap up the changes to By-law 91-19 this fall. I has not in favour of this motion.
- The Federal/Provincial Gas Tax Deal may be sending about $20K to the Township this year for infrastructure work.
- Township staff have been requested by Council to prepare a By-law to ban the use of lawn fertilizers and the unnecessary use of pesticides on waterfront properties. This By-law is well over due and should go a long way to protect our sensitive waterways.
