The natural beauty of Six Mile Lake, once encountered, stays with you for a life time. This was the credo of long time resident Ted Sokolowski of Falcon’s Point. Ted passed away on May 17, 2006 at the age of 92 at Hillcrest Village, Midland.

Introduced to the lake some 60 years ago by Mike Deputat. Ted always willingly gave advice and welcomed good conversation.
Whether it be watching the loons take their first flight or admiring the unfurling ferns in the forest, finding the perfect fishing spot or enjoying a master game of bridge, he was engrossed in cottage life. It was his peaceful alternative.

Ted was a World War II veteran who fought at Tobruk and Monte Casino. In Toronto, he was an accomplished home builder but those who knew him realized that Six Mile Lake was his cherished world.

Ted will be sadly missed by all his friends at Six Mile.
