Landowners Survey

By now you should have received in your mail an invitation from the Township to complete the Six Mile Landowners Survey about building size and planning policies on our lake. Your opinions about the 12 questions in the survey will be very important to our Councillors, township planners and all cottagers hoping to build or renovate in the future. The SMLCA urges you to complete this survey either online or by requesting a paper version at your earliest convenience (instructions for both can be found in the letter from the Township).

If you own multiple properties on the lake, you are entitled to complete more than one survey but you will need to clear your internet history after each time you do the survey, otherwise the program will tell you that you have already completed the survey.

Open-Air Burning Permit

SMLCA members are reminded that the Township has developed new by-laws affecting open bonfires and campfires. Annual General Meeting

Please remember the SMLCA AGM is this weekend, Saturday, June 22 at the Baxter Ward Community Centre. The doors open at 9am to and you can purchase your membership and register to vote. The meeting starts at 10am and there will be displays, SMLCA maps and mementos for sale, Art Tour brochures as well as an opportunity for you to have the weeds near your dock identified by an Eurasian Water Milfol expert. Come and socialize with your neighbours and friends over a coffee and treats.

Fire Pump Training

For those wishing to know how to operate the fire pumps on the lake, or for those who would like a refresher, then plan to attend the fire pump training session on Saturday July 6 at Chris Huddart’s cottage on Hungry Island (H073 in the Directory) starting at 10am.
