As we mentioned in our last email campaign, here are the results of the recent SML Landowner Survey.

We had a high survey return rate of 53% of owners on the lake which is incredible!  We are pleased to see the community’s involvement in this high profile issue and thank everyone for their participation.

Reading through the raw data there is a concern about the issue of cottage size, how the current zoning by-laws determine gross floor area (and what is included in it), and how the variance process works.  We also received a lot of feedback in the form of comments through the survey

What we need to do now is spend time with the numerical results and work with the community and the Township on next steps.  As soon as the Regatta is behind us, the Survey Committee will convene and get to work!

** Please note: due to a technical error in the online survey with Question 6, the indicated 10% “I have no opinion” is comprised of 2% who made that selection, and 8% who “did not choose an answer” category.  The technical issue was if the person left a comment with regards to this question, it removed the answer.
