• The Township together with the District of Muskoka, has been successful in hiring a new Manager of Planning and Economic Development, Ms. Carolyn Tripp. As previously reported, the Township has contracted with the DMM to provide planning services to the Township, and the outcome is this hiring. Ms. Tripp will be resident at the Township Offices most of the time, although an employee of the DMM, providing services to the Township.
• Committee of the Whole received the 2007 Water Quality report from the Muskoka Watershed Council. The report covers several inland lakes in the Muskoka district, and can be used in combination with the Georgian Bay Association report on water quality covering the Georgian Bay Shore and some inland lakes. The Muskoka Watershed Council report is available on the DMM website www.muskoka.on.ca under the tab for Planning and Economic Development. In addition, the specific Lake report cards are available on the Watershed website www.muskokawaterweb.ca.
• Canada Day celebrations are again planned for the Honey Harbour Landing, taking place from 10am until 3pm, on Saturday June 28th.
