  • Navigation program, which marks the shoal hazards on the lake
  • Water testing and reporting; surveys of water quality and algae growth
  • Goose population control to protect water quality
  • Fire Pump safety program
  • Broadband Internet Committee, lobbying internet providers to bring faster, more affordable internet to the lake
  • Artist tour
  • Golf tournament
  • Ice cream giveaway
  • Communications
    •  Echoes newsletter, for all members
    • Regular Eblasts like this one
    • Social media updates
    • Web site
    • Lake history and archives
  • local government liaison to help direct their focus and funding toward the concerns of SML

You can see that your SMLCA membership is a real bargain. Please go online and purchase your membership renewal at https://sixmilelake.net/membership/. You can also download a form and mail your payment if you prefer that option.

You can also pay in person dockside at SML by cash or cheque – please contact our Membership Chair Sarah McKinney at 647-823-8458 (call/text) or by email sarah.mckinney@sixmilelake.net to make arrangements.

Directories will be available to current members for pick-up as of July 16.  If you see the membership / directory banner hanging on the dock, Sarah is onsite and available to greet you. And yes, it is possible to pay your membership dues and grab your directory at the same time!  Sarah can be found at W006 (Mitchell) in the Directory.

Why not join us and help us continue to make the SML experience an awesome one?

Fireworks Donations

The annual Fireworks show is fast approaching and will take place on the evening of Saturday July 30th (weather permitting).

The deadline to provide this year’s budget to Pryo Mario is July 20th so there is still time to donate.  Our donations are behind by several thousand dollars, compared to this time last year. Please note, the amount of donations we have received by the middle of July will determine the how much we can commit to Pyro Mario, so please don’t delay. If we don’t receive more money soon, we will not have as nice a show as we had last year. Please be generous and help us have another stellar lake event.

Donations can be made online here: https://sixmilelake.net/asp-products/fireworks-donation/

Cash or cheque can also be received dockside with our Membership Chair (contact info above).

Regatta Volunteers

Everyone comes together to create a fun and memorable event for our little ones. The success of our regatta depends on our volunteers. Specifically, we still need people to work on the races (Starter, Starting Dock Bouncer, Record Takers) and the Canoe Coral.  We need one more certified Lifeguard.  And we need a scuba diver to help retrieve our swim dock chains.

If you can spend a few hours to help us out please contact Ted Mackay at ted.mackay@sixmilelake.net. If you have an old canoe that you can lend us for the canoe races please contact us. We are also looking for prize donations both for the regatta and golf tournament. Contact Vince Hosick at vince.hosick@sixmilelake.net
