It seems winter has been stubborn this year. Many have had damage to their properties due to fallen tree limbs as a result of the ice storm in early April. To add insult to injury, the power was out for 10 days or more. On a happier note, the lake ice is starting to go away and parts of the lake are already clear and should be fully open in another 5 days or so. We will soon be opening our cottages.
Charity Golf Tournament for the Food Bank (Only a few days left to register)
Although there was insufficient interest to continue our Six Mile Lake golf tournament, we know there are cottagers out there who would enjoy playing together. Here’s your chance!
In cooperation with our neighbouring cottage associations, we are participating in a charity golf tournament to benefit the food bank that will take place on Saturday May 10th at Seguin Valley Golf Course. The price is $150, which includes cart, BBQ chicken and rib dinner, and prizes. Ideally, we will be looking for three teams of four players to represent Six Mile Lake. We are also looking for prize donations to go into a silent auction. The deadline for registration is April 30th, 2025.

Township Zoning By-law Amendment Open House
The township held a public open house to discuss potential general housekeeping amendments to their Zoning By-law application number Z24-15 on Friday April 4, 2025. Further to that a public meeting will be held at the same location and on Zoom on Tuesday May 6th, 2025 at 9 a.m. The purpose of the meetings will be to present a proposed Township-wide Housekeeping Zoning By-law Amendment which will clarify the entirety of the Zoning By-law by correcting errors, re-formatting tables and text, and improving consistency with policies. The effect of the proposed amendments will be to achieve AODA compliance, re-organize general provisions by waterfront community, be more user friendly, correct errors, and improve the usability of the Zoning By-Law until a comprehensive review and update takes place.

May is Membership Renewal Month!
Our membership year runs from June 1 to May 31 and it’s time to renew for 2025/2026!
We will soon be sending out individual membership renewal invoices and online renewal instructions by email to all current members, so check your mailbox. We suggest that you opt for auto-renewal: it’s a great convenience for you and a boon for the association.
