The SMLCA has received a copy of a report from SPR Associates relating to urban sprawl and the Greenbelt.  This will be of concern to all municipalities and taxpayers:

An Assessment of Ontario Public Opinion regarding Bill 23 and Related Measures Affecting the Greenbelt and Housing.

This report provides results from a survey of a random sample of Ontarians and targeted samples of key stakeholder groups such as planners, farmers, residents associations, housing providers, users of greenspaces, environmentalists, and others.

The results from this survey of 6,400 Ontarians, show massive rejection of the Bill 23-related measures, overwhelming disbelief regarding positive impacts on housing, and most Ontarians’ desire for repeal of the Bill 23 measures.   

These results will be of interest to all concerned with municipalities, the environment and affordable housing.
