Six Mile Lake 4th Annual Virtual Artist Tour
For the past 3 years, Six Mile Lake has hosted an Annual Artist Tour organized by Mary Boddy. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, this summer Artists Tour has gone virtual with help from Heather Connell-Brown.
The tour is showcasing 19 artists with a great variety of talents, ranging from incredible woodwork pieces such as cutting boards, games, hand painted signs to one of kind paintings, hand knits, useful sewn pieces, jewelry, soaps, photography and much more! There is something for everyone. So check out the Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Sixmilelakeartisttour where artists tell you a little about themselves and show their work.
The format this year accommodates social distancing with dockside or curbside pick up through virtual viewings. The Virtual Artist Tour is running for the whole summer and each artist sets up their own times and days for selling and pick up. Easy payments can be done by e-transfer. In the past, one weekend was set aside for the tour and cottagers enjoyed boating around the lake and meeting new people and visiting with friends. Some artists may want to set up for the weekend of August 8 and 9th only. You will need to contact each artist individually you wish to visit and check with them as to their set up of choice, days and times.
Pablo Picasso said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Goodness knows, after the year we’ve had so far, we could all use the joy that art brings to the artists and to those who appreciate and purchase these works of art! Enjoy.
