-Council past a policy on the use of TGB resources during 2018 the election. Basically it says YOU CANNOT USE ANY. We also past an election sign policy as to when and where signs can be displayed. Signs cannot go up until after July 27 (closing date for nominations) and must be down within 72 hours after Oct. 22 (Election date). There is quite a list of restrictions as to where signs can be placed and fines of $200.00 per violation.
-Skelton Brumwell & Associates have been retained to do a desk top Fish Habitat Mapping Update throughout the Township. Phase 2 will include site verification at a latter date.
-The TGB portion of the 2018 budget was approved with a 2% increase in operations and 1.5% increase for infrastructure. District budget discussions begin next week.
– A new “enforceable” TGB Parking By-law was passed. It’s mainly aimed at abandon cars and seasonal trailers that are taking up needed parking spaces.
-Three members of our road crew have been appointed By-law Officers in order to ticket parked cars during winter snow plowing.
-Ron Brekbill of the TGB Historical Society provided the history of the Bressett House next to the Petro Canada Station in Port Severn. Staff will attempt to have the building classified as an historical building in order to apply for funding for needed repairs.
