Council Update:
- the Nurse Practitioner Office is open in Port Severn every Monday (see attached). We hope to expanse the number of days depending on usage. Please use it.
- Staff will be applying for Federal funds ($25K) for Canada 150 Anniversary (July 1, 2017) for all communities in the Township. The Township will also consider matching funds in the 2016 and 2017 budget.
- Operation will not be snow plowing entrances to private roads for parking due to the expense and time requirements. There are 120 private roads off our Township roads.
- Council will get briefed on by-law enforcement for property standards, zoning and building infractions in Nov. Timely By-law enforcement is of general concern to many residents and needs to be reviewed by Council.
- Resolutions were passed requesting the District to install bike lanes or paved shoulders when upgrading South Gibson Lake Road in 2016 and for High Street in MacTier (from Lake Joseph Road to downtown MacTier) for Canada 150.
- Another Resolution was passed clarifying brushing and treed buffer zone areas for Archie’s Road (Six Mile Lake) prior to potential logging operations.
- The Chief Administrative Officer – Laurie Kennard, received an excellence performance appraisal from Council and staff at the end of her 2nd year.
- 212 residents (about 1%) responded to a survey concerning questions on budget and taxes. Most responses were negative.
