  • our Chief Administrator Officer received a glowing performance appraisal from staff and Council (4.5 out of 5) after one year on the job.
  • Oct. 1 was the deadline for the purchase of road allowances that went from $4/sq. m to $8/sq.m. Over 70 applications were received which will take several months to process and approve.
  • staff will apply for a $4K grant from Muskoka Futures to prepare an investment package for Honey Harbour to assist in the eventual funding of a proposed waterfront development project
  • Georgian Bay Forever presented a report on the economic impact of low water levels in the Great Lakes. Losses could be as high as $9B in the foreseeable future.
  • the requirement of building a secondary road for the Middleton Development in MacTier was removed since a new underpass on Maple Street has been build. The underpass was paid for by CPR ($6M).
  • $30K will be put in the 2015 budget for consideration of a Township wide shoreline fish habitat zoning study. Satellite photos would be used in this assessment.
  • the Site Alteration and Tree Cutting By-law that applies to shoreline frontage will be approved in Nov. Only 25% of the shoreline can be trimmed.
  • Council will consider the costs associated with snow plowing the entrances to private roads to allow winter residences to park off Township roads.
  • the public and Councillors will be able to attend the meetings of the HH Waterfront Development Advisory Committee scheduled for Nov. 5th.
