Six Mile Lake Book Re-Printing!
Reserve your copy now!
The SMLCA Board will be reprinting the award winning book entitled “Echoes of Six Mile Lake” (published in 2009) that traced the history and development of Six Mile Lake. Originally a hard cover book at a cost of $70 per book for a print run of 1500 copies, this second limited number edition will be a soft cover book (with no additions or revisions) with a lower price than the original book. To judge the number of books we’ll order (and thus determine a final price) we need to start collecting a list of names of cottagers who’ll be interested in purchasing an additional book(s) or their first copy. The names we collect at this point will be first in line for agreeing to place a deposit (at a later time this spring) on their order to pay for the printing run.
Since 2009, the 290 page book complete with maps, photographs from the 40’s and 50’s and many family stories about the early days on Six Mile won an “IPPY” award from the Independent Publishers Association, in the Canadian non-fiction category. After the original 1500 copies sold out, there were numerous requests to purchase additional copies. And we’ve seen many new cottage families join our lake since 2009 who’ve not had a chance to purchase their own copy of this magnificent coffee table book.
