If you plan on having open air burning between April 1 and October 31, you must comply with the Township of Georgian Bay’s By-Law Number 2009-23 found here.  This includes having a Burn Permit.

It is also very important to be aware of the current fire rating so you can understand what you can and can’t burn.  This is something that is weather dependent and can change from one day to the next.

The Township publishes the current Fire Rating on the main page of their website.  You can view it here.  They also have signs at public places around the Township – like at the Mailboxes on Crooked Bay Road and just before the garbage drop off on Muskoka Rd 33.
