  • Neil Rollings has been hired as the new building inspector.
  • The Township will be using an optical scanner for election vote counting this term. The last hand count went well beyond midnight.
  • Paul Wiancko reported on his meeting between Go Home Lake and MNR on camping. The Go Home Lake Association will be considering a Memorandum of Understanding to control camping on their lake.
  • A By-law to regulate election signs received negative feedback from Council. This should be developed at least a year before an election.
  • The Township will again try to form a Recreation Working Group (one for each of Baxter and MacTier). The Township is also working on a long term Parks and Recreation Master Plan. A consultant is preparing Terms of Reference for Council review.
  • The public will be consulted on the need to extend the 10 day notice period for Committee of Adjustment variances (i.e. 20 days or more). This will require an amendment to our Official Plan.
  • Council will review the need for a Fence By-law. A number of recent fences have been erected as a result of neighbour feuds.
