- The Township received a positive response from a health and safety inspection of its facilities by the Ministry of Labour.
- Large object collection this year will be:
- Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18 for communal bin sites, Baxter and Tower Road Transfer Sites.
- Saturday, June 24 for Go Home Lake shore pickup at the public docks located just off Muskoka Road 32.
- Saturday, July 8 for present island barge pickup.
- Saturday, July 15 for Cognashene Association on shore pickup at the Honey Harbour Public Launch.
- Monday, August 28 for Go Home Bay barge pickup.
- Council will contribute $1,500 towards a Muskoka Heritage Video under an Ontario Visual Heritage Project. The 2 hour video will highlight stories in and around Muskoka including our Township. Local activities will be coordinated by our own Georgian Bay Township Historical Society.
- Public comments were received on a number of minor changes to the Zoning by-law 91-19 (definitions of boathouses, lot and yard frontage).
- A draft of the pesticide and lawn fertilizer by-law was reviewed.
- The Province has announced its intentions to pass legislation to extent the term of Councillors from 3 to 4 years beginning with the new Councillors this fall.
- The Cognashene Association updated Council on their Official Plan Amendment for their community and requested shared funding.
- The Go Home Lake Association reiterated their opposition to the Orillia Power Corporation proposal for the Sandy Gray Rapids Area.
- The Building Department presented an overview of the open septic re-inspection files. There are no high risk pollution problems but mostly minor grey water infractions (i.e. out door showers) and minor plumbing repairs.
- Reduced loads will be implemented on District Roads from March 14 to May 26 (within a few days depending on conditions).
- The Township will again this year allow the Gloucester Pool Association to oil geese on township property in their area.
- Council began its budget deliberations on February 28 .
