  • Introductions were made for two new staff members: Clerk – Sue Boonstra and summer By-law Enforcement Officer – Dave Frenstrad.
  • Council passed a motion in support of the upcoming Honey Harbour Jazz Festival to be held on August 19th.
  • Township staff is tentatively scheduled to move into the new office on the weekend of July 15. The Grand Opening is tentatively scheduled for the evening of Friday, August 25th.
  • A presentation at the Committee of the Whole of Council was made to add 4 new docks to South Bay Cove Marina near Honey Harbour. The issue of grey water discharge from live-aboard boats was highlighted as a concern. Only the addition of 3 docks was forwarded to Council for approval at its next meeting.
  • The issue of ticketing for minor by-law offences was presented by a legal consultant. Maximum fines cannot exceed $500.00 for infractions such as noise, dogs at large, signs, yard junk, etc.
  • A joint District/Township Public Meeting is tentatively scheduled for August 17 to review environmental, social and economic aspects of the new proposed Port Severn Village. Development could still occur this fall.
