- The Millhouse Group presented plans for Port Severn Village to be located on 280 acres of land in the vicinity of the present Sunnylea Golf Course. The proposal will see about 490 housing units throughout a new 18 hole golf course.
- Council has asked for a legal review of the fertilizer/pesticide by-law.
- The 2006 Township budget was approved with a 1.7% tax increase. The Township portion is about 25% of your overall tax bill.
The construction costs for the new township office and fire hall/public works building has come in on budget ($1.95M) and due to government grants the Township will only have to borrow $1.2M. The grand opening should be in early June. - The Fire Department has come up with a new plan to improve maintenance of the numerous fire pumps located throughout the Township. Two fire-fighters will inspect and maintain the pumps in the spring and just before the winter.
- Parks Canada, who controls water levels on Six Mile Lake and Gloucester Pool, would like to remind residents on these lakes to ensure that winter water intakes are at least 5.7 feet deep in Six Mile and 3.8 feet depth in Gloucester Pool below normal summer levels. Both lakes are lowered in the winter to allow for spring overflow from the Trent/Severn Waterway.
