- Paul Emms presented the concerns of a number of cottagers on Little Go Home Bay, Gloucester Pool about excessive noise, dust and blasting activities occurring at a private cottage. Thousands of cubic feet of rock have been removed for a dry boat house. Earlier in the day, the Committee of Adjustment turned down an application to make this boathouse 2 stories. Council will be addressing some of the concerns in upcoming planning discussions.
- The final report for the Port Severn Strategic Plan was approved. The plan sets out a course of action for future initiatives in the Port Severn area (i.e. land use, environmental concerns, tourist opportunities, residential and commercial developments, etc.).
- The Honey Harbour Fire Station will receive major roof repairs and engineers are looking at repairs and upgrades to the Baxter Community Centre.
- Amendments to the Planning By-Law 91-19 will be discussed at Council over the next several months based on recent public input.
- The Township is working on options to control unregulated camping in the Pretty Channel Dam/Big Chute area. Talks will have to occur at both Provincial and Federal levels.
- Council is reviewing a new draft Noise By-Law and an Animal Control By-Law
- The new access road off South Bay Road to the Baxter Transfer Site should begin this fall for completion next summer.
