The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) has issued a flood warning update.
Rising temperatures have caused rapid melting of snow in the headwaters of the Black River.
The Trent Severn Waterway has advised that flows on the Severn River continue to rise. Water
levels are expected to exceed 1998 levels in the next 36 to 48 hours. Flooding is occurring or
about to occur in these areas.
- Severn River
- Sparrow Lake
- Village of Washago
Water levels will continue to rise in:
- Six Mile Lake
- Gloucester Pool
Flows on the Black River near Washago and Lake St. John are at 75% of flood critical.
Residents in flood prone areas are being advised to make immediate preparations to protect
their property and to make all necessary arrangements in case they need to leave their homes.
Trent-Severn Waterway and MNR will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates
as information becomes available.
