The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) and Westwind Forest Stewardship Inc. are proposing to log areas around the north end of Six Mile Lake and south of Gibson Lake between 2009 and 2019.
A public information session was held in Parry Sound on March 27, 2008 regarding this plan.
The Six Mile Lake Cottagers Association, Archies Lane Road Association and the Gibson Lake Association attended the information session.
The SMLCA and the Gibson Lake Association intend to form a Committee to dissuade the government from pursuing logging in such close vicinity to cottage properties. If you would like to be involved and help out contact Paul Wiancko at Paul.Wiancko@SixMileLake.net
