Each year the Muskoka Heritage Foundation and The Muskokan hold a community-wide star party to focus attention on the importance of the night and remind people to incorporate energy conservation into their lives, decrease light pollution and simply, enjoy the night. In the past, events have included storytelling at Brooklands Farm in Milford Bay and star watching at Torrance Barrens near Gravenhurst and the Echo Valley Observatory outside Huntsville.

This year, events will also take place at Bondi Village in Dwight and Delta Grandview Resort in Huntsville.
