The Council for the Township of Georgian Bay at their meeting on July 11, 2005, unanimously turned down an application to amend the new Six Mile Lake By-law that would have allowed for a four lot subdivision at the top end of Hungry River in a shallow, weedy wetland. The Six Mile Lake Cottagers’ Association submitted the attached letter.

The Township Planning Department also could not support the application.  A Township report will now go to the District and then the District will go to its Planning Committee.  The District Planning Department is also not in support of the requested amendment. If the District turns it down, both the Township and the District will prepare for a potential OMB Hearing later this year or the next (the application came with a 73 page report by two consultants).
